Enjoying The Brazilian Sunshine!

Sorry that I haven't been around for a while to read your blogs or write any new posts but I've been enjoying the Brazilian Summertime here at the moment!
The heat has been incredible and I am topping up my dark brown "almost native carioca" tan! haha

It took me many years to get used to the fact that Brazil has it's Summertime while it is Winter in the UK, totally opposite to what I was used to! and Christmas time still feels weird to me when the temperatures can be as high as 40 degrees celcius here! I would still prefer a white Christmas...

This past week I've been visiting natural waterfalls in the mountains and soon I will be visiting the city of Rio de Janeiro to have a short holiday; swim in the crimson sea, sunbathe on some golden sands and see some old friends!

Sorry for "rubbing it in" to any of my dear fellow Brit blogger friends reading this as I know that you are all experiencing the worst snow and coldest winter weather there in the UK in 18 years!
I spoke to my Dad and he can't get out of the house as he is snowed in and there is ice everywhere which is making it much too dangerous for anyone to drive anywhere!
I have told him to order his food shopping with an online supermarket home delivery service and sit it out until the "big thaw" arrives!!

When I lived in London as soon as the Winter months arrived I would be planning my holidays abroad as I could never stand the bitter cold months. So I would choose a hot place with a beach and escape there for 2 or 3 weeks - I guess I was never really your typical English guy! My soul has found it's home at last!

So all I can say to my fellow Brits is: pack a suitcase and escape to a country in the sun for a few weeks! and if you come here to Brazil I will buy you an ice-cold beer on the beach and a nice meal in a restaurant!

Talk to you all again real soon!!

So WHY do you not like English winter weather? What's wrong with the cold, damp weather? I bet you REALLY miss the grey days! Wet snow/sleet showers - heaven!

Why not come to England straightaway for a short holiday & I will buy you a hot whiskey!

My cousin lives in London and he is here now for a visit. He told me that only 20% of the people who he works with could arrive at work last week. Uau!!! I confess i don't like this kind of summer we have here in Brazil, specially in Rio - very hot and very humid - but i think it's better then the winter they're having in England this year! Best regards, my friend!

Hi ciara,
Haha I love "Groundhog Day"! I recently bought the 20th anniversary special edition on Dvd!
I also want to see "Taken"! X

Hi Brit' Gal Sarah,
Thanks! Yeah Christmas for me here is always weird with hot sunshine, I always think "This isn't Christmas!" haha X

Hi Leo,
O.k. thanks! I will visit your Blog! Hugs

Hi Andrea,
Thanks! Wow you are very lucky to not have the bad weather where you are! My Dad is going crazy as he can't leave the house! X

Hi Isabella,
Wow cool! I hope you enjoy the time with your Cousin!
Yes things are so bad there in the UK with this terrible weather! I don't miss that at all! and like you I don't really love the hot humid summers of Rio, the worst is when there seems to be no oxygen to breathe, although it is better close to the sea... I prefer the springtime.
I will be in Rio from this Thursday/Friday for 1 week and I have some films for you... could I give them to you while I am there?
O.k. speak to you soon!
Big Hug Dear Friend!

The beach in your photo looks very much like how I remember Coral Bay in my home country of Cyprus - happy times indeed!
Good to hear someone's getting a tan - no chance of that in Britain at the moment (probably not even in the summer!!)
Enjoy! And when I come to Brazil I'll hunt you down for that ice cream and meal! lol

Dear Brit! Sorry for the delay in my answer. I've read your messages. I'm very busy making a lot of things, so the time in this moments gets shorter. I hope you understand. Well, I've already wached "The reader". It's very nice. I've watched "Rachel's Wedding" and it's incredible!! "Doubt"is not a very good film, but Meryl and Phillip are magnificent! Now, i want to see "The Wrestler"!! Talk to you soon! Bye.

We're in the end throes of winter, spring wants to pop up but Old Man Winter still rears his ragged old head...ah well...I'm not a hot weather girl...comes from the years of wearing bullet proof vests in 100 degree+ weather, so I'm usually pretty happy to see the occasional winter blast reappear...enjoy your sun my friend...grow brown and beautiful...come by when you can...

Hello my distant friend! You can bet, if I ever make it over that way, I'll be buying you a beer (and I'll be sure to come in the British winter). I've not been too writing too much myself lately either, but I'm trying now to catch up with my bloggy buddies. It's lovely to read about your Brazilian summers and your pooches; horrible to read about that monster who caused you such grief all those years ago. But HEY you survived ... and no doubt all the stronger for it!
Enjoy that sunshine Brit, and blog ya soon x
