Drifting, drifting out to sea,
Far away from shore,
I look for you but I'm alone,
Can feel my feet no more.
Gasping, gasping precious air,
My heart is feeling faint,
My life is flashed before my eyes,
It all just looked so quaint.
Searching, searching everywhere,
For your love that always guided,
I feel it all around me,
And my mind is all one-sided.
Wishing, wishing you were here,
To see you once again,
Missing every part of you,
Looking through life's window pane.
Drowning, drowning in your arms,
I search for your smile above,
With my last breath I find you,
And I'm saved by my Mother's love.

Thanks so much CJ! xx
That's lovely - thanks for sharing.
Hi softinthehead,
Thanks so much!
Aggh, tears. You've done it again you bugger!
Hi. Found your blog via Grumpy ole Ken, and have just spent a considerable time reading back on some of your blogs. Very impressed, if only I could write so prolifically. I can identify with the Grandmother and the war one as I was born in 1941 just outside Manchester and though I was too young to be aware, I was told later of the many close shaves our neighbourhood experienced. How many young women these days would be so selfless. Your Gran and mine were true stars.
Your words say so much x
Hi Expat mum,
hehe, It's so easy to make you cry! X
Hi Granny on the Web,
Thanks so much for your wonderful words! and thanks for stopping by!
And I agree; there wouldn't be many people these days who could stand all the horror that our Grandparents and Mothers experienced! (not only experienced but still walked ahead despite all the pain and loss!)
Come back again soon! X
Hi GoneBackSouth,
Thanks so much dear friend! X
Beatiful poem Donnie!
Thanks Leo! :)
I am on the point of crying here, as you write such moving things.
She will always be with you as you had such good grounding in your childhood. Parts of her are living on and her influence is still there.
Poignant piece of work.

Hi Fat, frumpy and fifty,
Thank you so very, very much!!
I write these poems and songs in just a few minutes... everything just seems to flow out of my heart.
Welcome to my blog! X
I love this poem. It gives me hope. Could I really be that powerful? As a mother, do I carry in my hands, my heart, the ability to make things right in their worlds? Can love combat all things dark? Oh, I do hope for it with every bit of me.
Hi ConverseMomma,
Thanks!
I believe that love conquers all every single time and a Mother's love and love for a Mother is like no other!
Just by being a Mother you have the power, the power to love and be loved so much!
There's not one day goes by that I don't think about my own Mother and how I wish I could have just one more day with her... I'd dance with her and make her laugh once more.
Thanks so much for visiting me! X
