Last night I watched a great little film on Dvd starring Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman called "Mr.Magorium's Wonder Emporium"It's a family film which is full of magic, life messages and inspiration for people of all ages.
At one point in the film I had to pause it, run to get my notepad and pen and write down the heartfelt inspirational words that I had just heard, which affected me immensely in just a few seconds...
Hoffman's character says to Portman's: "Your life is an occasion, rise to it"
I just had to write this short post here today to share these words with anyone who hasn't yet seen this film, they are powerful words indeed.
Sometimes we are so busy with all the mundane things going on in our lives that we forget to stop, take a breath, tell loved ones how much they mean to us and do everything we've always wanted to do.

I came here as gonebacksouth recommended you and I am so glad that I did. I've read a few of your posts but will need to come back and read more. My you are a real talent and within minutes you had me moved to tears with what you have written.
Thanks for a truly moving experience.
Hi MOB,
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I'm pleased that my words have moved you! please always come back and pay me a visit!
Haven't seen this one. Like the way you recommend films you have seen.
Thanks Maggie!
Always take a look at my Blog as I will be recommending all the good films that I see!
I have come back but still no time right now - just wanted to say thanks for the comment and the vote - you are a sweetie.
very cool quote...don't know if i could get through the movie though. thx for stopping by at my 'ramblings and whatnot' blog. i do a flash fiction 55 on fridays. you should try it. also, i have two poems on my other blog http://herroyalness.blogspot.com (you'll have to copy & paste...i don't know how to make it an actual link in the comments)
i would like to know what you think of them...you know, one poet to another lol
It's a great saying but I think waking up every day with that being the first thing in my head might prove a little stressful! I prefer to go to bed thinking "Well, you made it through another day". At least that's how I feel at the moment with end of school in about eight days (yes!) and too many bloody performances to sit through. Awful aren't I?
G'day from Australia,
I came here from The Lehners In France. What an inspirational post title this is - and I have to say I enjoyed your poem in the previous post too.
Hi MOB,
You're welcome! you deserve all the votes and all the best of luck! Hope you win!
