One of my many, many favourite songs by George Michael is "Spinning The Wheel" and yes I did name my Blog after that song!! ;)
George has a genius talent for writing the most beautiful lyrics and putting them together with his wonderful music, he is in my opinion the best singer/songwriter on the planet!
So if you haven't already heard the song and seen the music video sit back and enjoy it here! And if you do already know the song just sit back and enjoy it again and listen to the wonderful poetic lyrics hidden within a fantastic contemporary song!

Spinning The Wheel
spin the wheel
spin the wheel
spin the wheel
spin the wheel
Five o'clock in the morning
you ain't home
I can't help thinking that's strange,
Yeah yeah, baby
I just want you to know
I won't go through it again
Yeah yeah
Those clouds are closing in
Baby love
and I will not accept this as a part of my life
I will not live in fear
of what may be, yeah
and the lessons I have learned...
I would rather be alone than watch you spinning that wheel for me
You've got a thing about danger
ain't you getting what you want from me?
you've got a thing about strangers
baby that's what we used to be
you've got a thing about danger baby
I guess the hungry just can't see
one of these days you're gonna bring some home to me...
Six o'clock in the morning
you ain't phoned
I can't help thinking that's strange
Yeah yeah
it seems that everybody takes their chances these days
oh yeah, we're standing in the rain
Baby love
And I will not accept this as a part of my life
I will not live in fear of what may be
and the lessons I have learned...
I would rather be alone than watch you spinning, spinning that wheel for me...
Got a thing about danger
ain't you getting what you want from me?
Baby don't you love that trash!
Got a thing about strangers
Baby that's what we used to be
I know you're always chasing that arse
like it's going out of fashion, baby
I guess the hungry just can't see
One of these days you're gonna bring some home to me...
How can you love me?
when you are playing with my life!
you say give me time and I'll do better, I swear!
give me time and I'll lead you back to despair...
and I don't want to go back there...
I don't want to go back there...
Never going back to that and that's a fact, baby!
one of these days you're gonna bring some home to me...
to me...
Spin the wheel
Spin the wheel
Spin the wheel
Spin the wheel
Spin the wheel
Spin the wheel
Spin the wheel
Spin the wheel

My favorite of his numbers which was what drew me in here to start with...hoping that you will succeed in healing your broken heart and move on to someone who deserves you!
hugs
Sandi
Hi Sandi,
Thank you so much! I really do appreciate your kind words!
Big Hugs! X
i totally see how this relates to what you're going through right now. you know how i feel about it all....you deserve nothing but happiness.
big hugs xoxo
btw i have not really listened to george michael since his wham days. they were one of my faves! hehe but i'm digging this song :)
Hi ciara,
Thank you so much for all of your support Dear Friend! I really appreciate it!
I've been a huge fan of George Michael since Wham! and I have absolutely every CD & Dvd - If you don't have any of George's stuff I recommend "Twenty Five" which is his newest Double CD (also on a Limited Edition 3 CD Set) which has all his Greatest Hits on plus some new songs....
Big Hugs!

I think this song just about sums up what you are feeling. The words are very poignant.
You deserve something better and I am sure there will be some one out there who is feeling the same as you. Just hang in there. X
It is hellish when a once passionate relationship becomes cold and a partner goes off on search of new lovers. The emptiness of being left behind in what was once a haven is striking, cruel and heartbreaking. No matter how much you plan to part as friends, it is a testing time. Hope you are coping well Donnie. X
Wow! I thought I knew all of his songs, obviously spending too much time on the blog. That was stunning, and the words, well, one can only hope that he takes his own advice. He is the most talented young man with the voice of an angel and a way with a lyric that gets to the heart of this old thing.
Hope you are feeling mre content.
Never listened to this before, but loved the syncopated rhythm all through - thanks...
and remember, every end is a new beginning...
I used to love this song - listened to it over and over. In fact I just love George Michael full stop.

Hi Maggie,
Yes the words of this song is exactly my life at the moment... I can listen to many George Michael songs and feel that I am living a parallel life with his (loss of his Mother to Cancer, loss of his Boyfriend, pain and bereavement, fears, e.t.c... all very similar to my life)
Thank you so much for all your wonderful words of encouragement Dear Friend! XX
Hi MOB,
Yes, it really is a terrible time. I'm doing o.k.... some days better than others, but once I can finally move on alone I think I will be fine. I guess it's just the fear of the unknown and whether or not I can survive, but I know that I have some wonderful guardian angels looking after me who have always kept me safe before, and I know that my Mum is my main guardian angel, she'd never let me come to any harm.
Thank you so much for all your lovely words Dear Friend! XX
Hi Moannie,
I totally agree: the voice of an angel! What I love about his songwriting is that he always writes from his heart and what he is going through at the time, he doesn't hold back, it's all his life and none of his songs are fantasy like so many other singers sing about!
Thank you Dear Friend! XX
Hi Jinksy,
I'm pleased you enjoyed it... it's always great to get more people interested in his music!
Yes, Thank you! It is indeed a new beginning... and I am very happy about that part of it! a chance to start over and learn from mistakes made before... Life is all one big learning process eh?!
Thanks for everything Dear Friend! XX
Hi CJ,
Yes he is just wonderful! One of my other huge favourites is "Jesus To A Child" that one breaks my heart, it's so beautiful, all about the loss and love of his Brazilian Boyfriend - how ironic!
Thanks Dear Friend! XX
I can't tell you all how much I truly appreciate all of your wonderful comments!!!
I feel I'm on a rollercoaster of emotions at the moment, and I know that anyone who doesn't know me who is reading this could think "Wow, get a life man!... it's only a break-up!!" but he has been the absolute love of my life, my longest ever relationship, in fact my only real relationship as I don't count any of the other ones. I've idolised this man for 13 years, given my whole life to him, and so now I just feel as if my heart has been sliced up into a million pieces.
I know that I will be o.k. eventually but I also know that it is going to take a hell of a long time to "get over him"
I'm keeping busy, living my little life here but my mind is on the situation and the pain every minute of the day, I hope that will change soon.
I am a very happy person and not normally a miserable bastard, I'm always the one who would be laughing, joking and smiling with my friends and family in the middle of the room, keeping everyone laughing, and they all say they love my company.
But at the moment, at this time, it's difficult to smile and laugh but I still do... life goes on!!
Thank you so very much everyone! You've taught me that friends and truly caring and very kind people exist in all places!!
Huge Hugs and Love,
Donnie

I had never heard this song before. Thanks for sharing the video and lyrics.
Hi Cheffie-Mom,
You're very welcome! I'm pleased you liked it! X
i was once a miserable bastard, or the female equivalent, once...it hurts, it hurts a lot. when my ex and i separated, i cried everyday..sometimes even at work :-/ but you will be able to move on. it might be awhile, but you will see some inner strength that you never thought you had. it's o.k. to hang on to some of the memories, too, cos they weren't all bad, right??
xoxo
Hi Donnie!!!
You won a award! Go to my blog to get it!

Hi ciara!
Thanks so much Dear Friend!
Yeah it does hurt, but as you said it wasn't all bad (only now) so yeah I do have hundreds of wonderful memories, this is why I will always remain good friends with him too.

I don't know if you have ever seen the American show - Eli Stone. If not, look around for it. It stars George Michael's music (and occasionally him) and I think it is really uplifting.
Hi Donnie,
Sorry to read about what's happened in your life recently. You're a wonderful guy and deserve the very best.
By the way, I'm back!!!
Take care,
Peej x
Hi Donnie, OK be prepared to go green with envy! I grew up in the same town as George, went to the same parties, socialised together and saw all their local concerts from local pubs, through Top of the Pops and all the way to the Fianl at Wembley (where I was in the VIP area as a friend). I was also friends with Andrew, who is a reall tiny little guy!
George is thoroughly lovely in person and the past few years have been really tough on him. I agree he is one of the best singer songwriters out there. Did you ever get the show Eli Stone over there, if not you night want to see if you can get it on DVD. It featured George and his songs alot and I Loved it. Sadly we have not been in touch for about 12 years, due to us both moving on.
Hi Leo,
Yeah he's the absolute best!
Hi Butch Boo,
You're welcome!
Hi Robin,
Thanks, yeah I have heard of that show but don't get it here in Brasil... I will see if I can find it anywhere online...
Hi Peter,
So great to see you're back! now it's me who's dissappeared! hehe
Thank you for your kind words dear friend! I am in a kind of weird transition place at the moment and I just want to move on...
Big Hugs and speak soon!
Hi Sarah!
Wow! that is so great!
I was also at "The Final" concert at Wembley, with my Sister, in the front frow right in front of the stage! and we got soaked with the hoses on that hottest day of the year! Great memories!
And my only claim to fame (which doesn't compare with your's) is that through my work (I was an assistant music journalist when I still lived in London) I shook George's hand and Elton John's hand backstage at Elton's World Aids Day Concert at The Royal Albert Hall in 1994, which I was covering for the newspaper where I worked... it was the time when George's music recordings had been put on hold because of the Sony trial and the only appearances he made was at various special concerts. It was such a great evening and him and Elton sung "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" so beautifully! I have looked for that live track everywhere but sadly it seems it was never recorded... it would have made an excellent single!
And I will definately try to get hold of Eli Stone! I've heard a lot about that series! Thanks! X
